Galloping Grey Horse

Dynamic & Static Assessment

Initial sessions require a history intake to include information such as medical history, previous accidents, and present complaints. A static assessment enables me to detect reactions to palpations, asymmetry, muscle atrophy, and any tactile defence.  A dynamic assessment gives me an opportunity to watch the horse move, evaluate their conformation, and to make sure there are no massage contraindications before I start the session. Veterinary consent will be required for your horse's first session.

Sports Massage & Stretching

The massage session will include a head to tail full-body massage, allow 90 minutes. I will be concentrating on specific areas, using techniques such as effleurage, petrissage, compression, fascial release, Pilates and stretching. Persistent issues might indicate an underlying condition, so areas that need attention will be documented for future reference using Equigate's interactive software.

Your Aftercare Plan

During your horse's sports massage, I will keep you informed of the areas that require treatment whilst explaining the techniques I use. Following the session, I will provide you with an aftercare routine designed to maintain the positive effects of the massage. This will include massage techniques, Pilates, stretches and ridden/in-hand exercises. Your horse may need a period of light work after the massage, especially if they were treated for a specific issue. Importantly, movement post massage is usually recommended.
